The Music & Culture course will be offered in an online format on Mondays, February 3, 10, 24, and March 3, 2025, 7-9pm ET / 6-8pm CT / 5-7pm MT / 4-6pm PT. Registration for this course takes places on the UUA website.

Training Requirements

The Music & Culture course is an online learning experience comprised of four two-hour webinars with reading and other assignments for each session. Credit will be offered for full participation in the module. Full participation includes:

  • Online attendance at four 2 hour sessions
  • Reading and reflection to prepare for each session
  • Submission of final evaluation within a week of the ending of the module

 

Goals of the Training

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Have a sense of Unitarian Universalist culture and the way it shapes Music Ministry;
  • Name how music functions within White Supremacy Culture;
  • Articulate the value and purpose of music ministry; and
  • Acknowledge, engage, and interact with the material culture of music.
