With Rev. Megan Vissar.

Paying attention to our bodies can help us to nurture the resilience we need in these challenging and troubled times. Megan draws on her experience as a UU minister, and training in embodied somatic healing work.

In this online engagement studio, Megan will be sharing body-based practices that invite our bodies into the conversation about how we’re coping in this present moment. These practices are grounded in social justice principles and scientific responses to trauma and oppression. She’ll offer you opportunities to “try on” these practices in your home – while still being connected online. Come explore some techniques for building safety within your body and in an approachable environment.

If you have been feeling worried, anxious or numbed out, come explore some techniques to soothe or bolster you. If you would like to feel more fully present as you move through your day, come and grow in awareness of the ways your body has been showing up throughout the past few weeks.

Rev. Visser’s hope is that you will leave this studio feeling more connected to the resilience and presence you need to get through this season. Come join us April 18th to gather some tools for nurturing your spirit as we move through these times together as a community.

A note about cost – this workshop was a virtual presentation with a sliding scale cost of $10-25. We are offering it here for free since so many need it in these stressful times. If you are able, in lieu of payment please make a goodwill donation to the Disaster Relief Fund of the UUA.

Who is this studio for?
There is no wrong body to practice with. Families and youth, people with movement or space limitations and people with chronic health conditions welcome! Whether you are a leader or not, welcome! Full participation requires no special skills, training or any particular way of being personally spiritual.
