We know that computers and software can be frustrating! If you have having issues, we hope these quick solutions will help. If the problem you are having isn’t listed below please contact us at info@uuinstitute.org or submit a support ticket and we’ll work with you to figure it out.
Problems with Your User Account
Please check you spam or junk folder first. Occasionally these emails get caught in spam folders on your server or in your inbox.
If you can’t find the email in spam, then please email info@uuinstitute.org or submit a support ticket and one of us will confirm your account right away.
We do check for “stuck” accounts regularly but if you email us we’ll take care of it right away. (Please note we have a small staff and there may be a delay if one of us is out of the office.)
That means you probably accidentally clicked the link twice and your account is already activated.
Try loging in using the user name and password you set up when you registered for the site.
If you can’t log in then let us know at info@uuinstitute.org or submit a support ticket.
You are not alone! This happens all of the time with automated emails.
Your UU Institute account has been registered but it is not yet activated. (This is an important step to keep out bots and trolls.)
Our website sent out a confirmation email with a link that you needed to click to activate your account.
First, check your spam or junk folder for an email. Mark it as from a “safe sender,” click the link, and you should be able to log in.
If you can’t find the email then please email info@uuinstitute.org and one of us will confirm your account (within a business day).
We do check for “stuck” accounts regularly but if you email us we’ll take care of it as soon as we see the email. (Please note we have a small staff and there may be a delay if one of us is out of the office.)
If your user name had a space, try logging in without the space.
The system does not recognize spaces in the user names. If you put in “Beth Casebolt” it will turn that into “BethCasebolt”. So try removing the space between your names or two words first. The system does this automatically, it does not tell you it is happening.
Also, if you can’t remember your user name, you can always login using your email address associated with the account. If these two fixes don’t help please email info@uuinstitute.org or submit a support ticket and one of us will check your account and tell you your user name. (This may take a day or two.) Note that we cannot see passwords.
Do note that while you can change your email address associated with the account, you cannot change the user name once it is set.
Click the login link in the menu bar. Under the boxes for user name and password there is a link for register and forgot password?
Click the forgot password and follow the instructions.
If you do not get the reset password email or are unable to find the link, email info@uuinstitute.org for help. We can’t see your password, so all we can do is reset it or force the system to resend the reset email. We do find when we send it from the administrative panel it almost always arrives.
Sometimes browsers send what they have stored to the software instead of what you want them to, including overwriting passwords you type in. If you are having issues and you are certain you have the correct password, please try clearing the cache of your browser to see if it resolves the issue. Every browser is different so search “clear cache” with the name of your browser for instructions. If it does not Please try resetting your password and if you can’t do that, please reach out to our support staff through our contact form or by emailing info@uuinstitute.org
Problems Navigating the Training Materials
YouTube has added an “autoplay” feature that causes this problem.
Most of our quizzes are set up so that you only need 50% to pass.
If you are having problems with a quiz, submit a support ticket and we’ll work with you to figure it out.
The software is designed to allow you to go back and and review previously completed modules and topics, but occasionally folks report they get directed back to the main page instead. If this happens, please try clearing the cache of your browser. Every browser is different, so search “clear cache” and your browser name to find instructions. This appears to resolve the issue.
